First project from Pharos' $10 million incubation program goes live, with a real-world asset yield product set for late November
Faroo, the native liquid staking protocol of the Pharos ecosystem, today launched stPROS, its flagship liquid staking token, giving PROS holders a way to earn network staking rewards while keeping their assets available for use across on-chain markets.
The launch arrives with day-one integrations in two of the most widely used Web3 wallets. The Faroo dApp is now live inside Binance Web3 Wallet and OKX Web3 Wallet, allowing users worldwide to stake PROS with a single click through their wallet's built-in interface, without the manual network configuration that often discourages newcomers from participating in staking.
Solving the lockup problem
In traditional proof-of-stake networks, staking usually requires users to lock their tokens for extended periods, limiting what they can do with that capital. Faroo addresses this by issuing stPROS to users when they stake. The token represents their staked position, continues to earn validation rewards, and can be freely transferred or deployed across decentralized exchanges and lending protocols.
How stPROS works
Unlike some liquid staking tokens that use a rebase model, in which token balances change automatically as rewards are added, stPROS uses an exchange-rate model. A holder's stPROS balance stays the same, while the amount of PROS each stPROS can be redeemed for increases over time as staking rewards compound.
This design is intended to make stPROS easier to integrate across DeFi. Constant balances help avoid the accounting errors and settlement issues that can occur when rebasing tokens move between smart contracts, such as trading pools and lending markets.
The protocol also includes a fast redemption feature. When new staking deposits come in while withdrawal requests are pending, Faroo uses those new deposits to fill the withdrawals immediately, letting users exit without waiting out the standard unbonding period.
Backed by Pharos and built on Bifrost
Faroo is the inaugural project selected under Pharos' $10 million ecosystem incubation initiative, securing a post-investment valuation of $10 million. Its selection as the program's first project positions it as a core piece of infrastructure for the Pharos network.
On the technical side, Faroo is built on Bifrost's SLPx cross-chain staking technology, which has been customized for the Pharos high-performance network. The approach aims to pair proven security with a simple user experience.
What comes next
The stPROS launch is the first stage of a broader roadmap. By late November 2026, Faroo plans to introduce two additional modules:
-
tbPROS, a real-world asset yield product that combines native staking rewards with yield backed by real-world cash flows through what the company calls a Hybrid Yield framework.
-
Faroo Points, an incentive program that will reward long-term stPROS holders and active early community members based on asset retention, product use, and ecosystem participation.
Together, the products are part of Faroo's stated goal of building a full yield infrastructure layer for Pharos, connecting on-chain staking with real-world financial structures.
