Circle Brings USDC and EURC Into SAP Enterprise Payment Workflows

Circle and SAP-backed financial-services company Tereina announced on October 7, 2026, that they will integrate USDC and EURC into Tereina’s payments infrastructure, beginning with SAP Cloud ERP. The initiative is designed to bring stablecoin payments into the enterprise software environments already used for payment and treasury operations, rather than requiring companies to adopt a separate crypto-payment system.

The companies are positioning SAP Pay as the access point for eligible SAP customers. The immediate focus, however, is on the integration path and customer testing: Circle and Tereina have outlined proof-of-value programs and specialist training, not a broad production rollout.

SAP Pay embeds USDC and EURC in existing ERP payment flows

Under the partnership, eligible businesses will be able to send and receive stablecoin payments through SAP Pay from their existing enterprise applications, Circle said in its announcement. That framing matters for corporate users because the proposed payment activity is intended to sit within familiar ERP processes rather than alongside them.

The currencies have distinct proposed roles. USDC is the preferred stablecoin for eligible US-dollar workflows, while EURC is intended for euro-denominated activity, according to a Business Wire release carried by Nasdaq.

The setup could place stablecoin transfers alongside established business functions, including payment initiation, approvals and treasury oversight. Circle’s announcement, however, says the service is for eligible businesses, and the companies have yet to set out a timetable for wider deployment, so not every SAP customer will automatically gain access.

SAP’s USDC invoice demonstration maps the operational workflow

An SAP demonstration shows a supplier invoice paid in USDC through SAP Pay, with payment initiation and approval handled within standard SAP workflows. The demonstration also includes payment monitoring, treasury visibility, an on-chain transfer through a Circle wallet, reconciliation and CAMT053 statement posting.

SAP says the process can settle in minutes rather than days, according to its demonstration materials. The sequence presents the stablecoin transfer as one part of an invoice-to-payment process spanning approvals, visibility and accounting-oriented reconciliation.

The demonstration describes a workflow rather than reporting live customer transaction volumes or a completed large-scale implementation; the transfer is not presented as an isolated wallet transaction.

Customer proof-of-value programs will test production adoption

Circle and Tereina plan to run customer proof-of-value programs in the coming months. They also plan to train treasury and payments specialists and work with ecosystem partners, steps that suggest the companies are still preparing the operational and partner base required for broader use.

The distinction is material in assessing the announcement: the partnership establishes an intended route for USDC and EURC through SAP Pay and SAP Cloud ERP, while the planned programs will test how that route functions with customers before it can be described as production-scale adoption.

For now, the concrete enterprise workflow on display is the USDC supplier-invoice example. The next evidence of uptake will come from the customer programs and the extent to which those tests translate into use across dollar and euro payment activity.
