SVRN Acquires FastNEAR, Bringing Core NEAR Data Infrastructure In-House

SVRN said on October 8 that it had acquired FastNEAR, making the provider of NEAR RPC, archival and data infrastructure a wholly owned subsidiary.

The acquisition brought an operational layer of the NEAR ecosystem inside SVRN, whose activities had previously centred on asset reserves.

Financial terms were not disclosed in SVRN’s Form 6-K exhibit. FastNEAR’s systems handle more than 3.5 billion requests and over 100 terabytes of data each month, according to SVRN’s filing.

FastNEAR becomes a wholly owned SVRN subsidiary

The acquisition makes FastNEAR a wholly owned SVRN subsidiary, creating a direct corporate link to a business that provides core access and data services for NEAR users and developers. The October 8 announcement did not disclose the consideration paid or other financial terms.

Rather than describing a product integration or commercial partnership, SVRN presented the move as an acquisition of the infrastructure operator itself. That distinction matters because RPC, archival and data services are operational systems used to access blockchain information and support applications built around the network.

SVRN’s SEC filing identifies FastNEAR as an operator of NEAR RPC, archival and data infrastructure. The filing does not provide a breakdown of requests by service, customer, application or geographic market, but the reported volumes indicate that the operation processes activity at a scale well beyond a limited internal tool.

The infrastructure handles 3.5 billion monthly requests

FastNEAR serves more than 3.5 billion requests per month and processes more than 100 terabytes of data over the same period. SVRN’s October 8 disclosure says the figures cover the company’s NEAR RPC, archival and data infrastructure.

RPC infrastructure provides a route for applications and users to query a blockchain and submit interactions. Archival services preserve historical blockchain data. Data infrastructure can make that information available for applications and other services.

SVRN reported the figures as measures of FastNEAR’s service activity, not as independent estimates of total NEAR network traffic. The company characterized the acquisition as expanding its role in essential NEAR infrastructure.

FastNEAR’s founders and existing team stay with the operation

FastNEAR co-founders Evgeny Kuzyakov and Mike Purvis joined SVRN as part of the transaction, according to a company announcement distributed through PR Newswire.

The existing FastNEAR team will continue operating the business, according to TokenPost’s coverage published October 11. The transaction therefore combines a change in ownership with continuity in the personnel responsible for the service’s day-to-day operation.

That continuity is particularly relevant for infrastructure handling high request volumes. SVRN has said the services will continue without interruption, though its announcement did not set out a timetable for product changes, staffing plans or the specific investments to follow the deal.

SVRN’s first operating business beyond asset reserves

TokenPost described FastNEAR as SVRN’s first operating business beyond its asset-reserve activities. The acquisition gives SVRN ownership of an active infrastructure provider rather than solely exposure through reserve management.

SVRN said it intends to invest in FastNEAR’s infrastructure reliability, capacity and additional products. In a separate newsroom post, the company also said FastNEAR services would keep running without interruption.

The company has not disclosed how much it expects to invest, which products it intends to add, or a schedule for capacity expansion. For now, the immediate change is ownership: FastNEAR’s existing operation and team sit within SVRN, while the company signals a broader push into operating essential NEAR infrastructure.
